Reddit want to join dci but college band sucks

# it to all those insecurities and I do participate in a strange DCI inspired band though. I'm a freshman student and I would like to join the Marching Band. Fast forward to college, I picked up an instrument, but I've been. I really want to march dci but i want to hear your opinions. Second quarter when I gave up on Crown and marching for the season I got above a Third quarter when I decided to fill a hole in an indoor group and try to march again I got well below a Do not force it. Seriously. I know you don't want to hear it now, but I ruined my GPA for the foreseeable future and I'm struggling to get an internship. Unless it's changed, UMass's DCI connections are very much only with Thom Hannum, Colin McNutt, and the percussion section. In my first two years of marching, I was the only kid marching world class in a wind section of + kids. Not to say that it was a bad thing. We had some extremely talented musicians and put on some great productions. Nearly every single person in DCI started in marching band and there is no reason to talk bad about people who enjoy marching band but do not do drum corps. Part of the reason that the marching arts seem so strange to people not involved is because people like you find a need to talk down on other parts of the marching arts.
